If a girl is late and she has winged eye-liner, don’t ask why she is late. Doing winged eye-liner takes up a lot of time but if you do it right, its worth it. Your first couple of attempts may result in a smudged, squiggled line instead of a graceful flick but with plenty of practice, you’ll soon become a pro! Winged eyeliner has been a beauty staple for decades, and we’re still seeing it everywhere this season. Here are some steps for applying winged eye-liner:

To Apply:

Step 1:Start with a clean eye but if your eyelids are prone to getting oily, powder your lids and apply an eye shadow base.

Step 2: Examine where you want to start your wing. Use your bottom lashline as a reference.

Step 3: With the tip of the liner touching the very end of your upper lashline, draw a thin diagonal line (45 degree angle) upward it should be going in the direction of where your eyebrow ends.

Step 4: Now, with your one eye closed (the eye you’re applying liner to, of course), put your pointer finger (of your left hand if you’re right-handed) on your brow bone and slightly pull your lid upward so your skin is slightly taut. With your other hand, starting from the top of the wing, draw a straight line ending at the middle of your lid. Think of it as there being an invisible ruler from the end of the wing that connects to the middle of your lashline. You want to trace that invisible ruler.

Step 5: Now, fill inside the lines.

Step 6: Continue lining your full lashline. It’s up to you if you’d like it to be thick or thin.

Step 7: If you need to clean up the edge to make your lines crisp, use a small angled or liner brush and dip it in your concealer or makeup remover and trace along the edges. If not ignore this step.

Step 8: Apply mascara or fake lashes. Voila.

At last Sunday’s American Music Awards, candy-colored strands trigger long, stately gowns. Both Bonnie McKee and Ke$ha gave the red carpet an edge with pastel hair. Pravana’s Artist Vadre Grigsby Shares Insight on The way to Get the Look.

Ke$ha rocked a split personality pastel that was a fierce because the extra high slit on her gown. BONNIE MCKEE’S LOOK >>>

1. Apply ChromaSilk 7.44 from scalp in the course of the first few inches of every strand, adjusting the length at that you apply the colour as you progress into the pinnacle section, adding more length.

2. Apply Pure Light Power Lightener with 30 volume developer to the rest ends, lifting to a degree 10.

3. Once, processing is complete, rinse, shampoo, condition, and dry completely.

4. Apply VIVIDS Orange over the 7.44.

5. Apply a mix of equal parts VIVIDS Orange and PASTELS Too Cute Coral during the mid lengths.

6. Then apply a mix of ½ oz of PASTELS Too Cute Coral with ¼ VIVIDS Clear and a drop of PASTELS Pretty in Pink throughout the ends.

7. Process for 20 minutes at room temperature. Then, rinse with cool water until the water runs clear, shampoo lightly with VIVIDS Color Protect Shampoo, Condition with VIVIDS Color Protect Conditioner, apply a lightweight mist of VIVIDS Color Protect Sealing Spray, then style as desired.

The Pastel Blue and Pastel Pink shades complement one another as a result of their matching cool, icey undertones. 1. Apply ChromaSilk 6N with 10 volume developer through 1 inch starting on the scalp. Process for half-hour. Then shampoo, condition, and dry completely.

2. Apply Pure Light Power Lightener with 30 volume developer in the course of the rest of the hair to lighten the mid-length and ends to a light-weight level 10. Then shampoo, condition, and dry completely.

3. Divide hair down the center. For the correct side: Create a complete of four mixtures each starting with 1 oz of PASTELS Mystical Mint.

      3a. Within the 1st bowl add ¼ oz of VIVIDS Clear.

      3b. Within the 2nd bowl add ½ oz of VIVIDS Clear.

      3c. Within the 3rd bowl add ¾ oz of VIVIDS Clear.

      3d. Within the 4th bowl add 1 oz of VIVIDS Clear plus 1 drop of PASTELS Blissful Blue.

4. Apply these custom colors in the course of the full length of the hair, by taking varying sections for every mixture.

5. For the left side: Create a complete of three mixtures:

     5a. Within the 1st bowl combine 1 oz of VIVIDS Clear with 1 oz. of PASTELS Pretty in Pink.

     5b. Within the 2nd bowl combine 1 oz of VIVIDS Clear with 1 oz. PASTELS Too Cute Coral.

     5c. Inside the 3rd bowl combine 1 oz of VIVIDS Clear with 1 oz. PASTELS Pretty in Pink and 1 drop of Blissful Blue.

6. Apply these custom colors in the course of the full length of the hair, by taking varying sections for every mixture.

7. Process for 20 minutes at room temperature. Then, rinse with cool water until the water runs clear, shampoo lightly with VIVIDS Color Protect Shampoo, Condition with VIVIDS Color Protect Conditioner, apply a lightweight mist of VIVIDS Color Protect Sealing Spray, then style as desired.
