NYC celebrity hairdresser Josue Perez, who has styled Hollywood royalty like Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz and Sarah Jessica Parker, suggests counting on the low chignon as a go-to in your clients in this upcoming holiday season stretch.
“Face framing chignon buns are an ideal and classic look appropriate for any holiday party—from the office party to gift swaps to New Year’s Eve,” says Josue, a brand ambassador for Rowenta Beauty. Buying The Dream
I had been very lucky throughout my career to have had some amazing experience and met amazing people. During those years, i’ve got looked around, checked things out and made a catalogue of items i’d want if i may have my dream. Then last June, a few week before we were speculated to move to our lake house for the summer, our full-time home sold and with excitement (and a little bit anxiety), we wanted a brand new home. Now with a worldwide of opportunities to choose between, we sat down as a family to determine what our next adventure has to be? Where did we wish to live?
Our oldest daughter said she didn’t desire to move from the city we lived in, Leah (my wife) desired to stay near her mom, and because i like where we are living too, all we wanted to do was find the correct home/building within the same town. Over the last few years, Leah and that i were attempting to buy a building, but had struck out, and the one thing we had accomplished was loosing money. But, we thought we’d try yet another time for the family, and heck, if it didn’t work this time we did not have our home anymore anyway, since it was under contract, so we knew we were going somewhere.
With great hope, we got down to discover a new home where i may have an artistic center to shoot pictures and videos, a studio to deal with guest’s hair and a guest suite so stylists could come to coach with us – a tall order, but we were searching for a dream. So, tomorrow with contracts signed on our house, we went out to peer inside the town we were living in and organize appointments to look three homes. We visited two other homes that day, but fell in love with our dream.
From the instant we walked into what’s know called The Snyder House, we fell in love. After we entered the 1857 built (the civil war started in 1861 for some perspective), Federal style brick home, we were met by its current owner Mrs. Snyder, who together with her recently deceased husband were the second one family to occupy the virtually 160 year old home. The primary family who built the home, the Hartzell, owned a legal distillery and lived in the home until 1958 once they sold the house to the Snyder’s, Dr. Robert and Mrs. Helen Snyder, who purchased it in 1958. Originally a personal home for the Hartzell’s, the Snyder’s had used the building as a main home at the second and third floors with their three children, with a doctor’s office at the first floor. After I saw this my eyes grew big and a grin found my face, it was almost too good to be true. As we walked further in the course of the house, things just kept improving.
So what is the dream? The dream for me was to have an artistic center where i will be able to create, take care of guests and share ideas with salon professionals. Over the following couple of months, i’ll be sharing my dream, because it becomes a reality with four key components, Studio/Salon, Creative Center, Guest Suite, Home.
GOALS:
Studio/Salon
An intimate, hi-end, private, four chair Studio/Salon with three team members which are open by appointment only. Our studio could have three team members from outside the house, to take care of guests (that is the max variance we got for the home to permit in accordance with previous usage) and function a test lab for my ideas.
Creative Center
Space to create videos, perform photo shoots, host seminars and feature fun. an area where i will explore ideas, collaborate with friends and fasten with salon professionals.
Guest Suite
Home
Finally, our new building may be our home for our family giving us the chance to stick in a community we like while still allowing me to drive to Ny city in lower than two hours.
This is a good time for us and a chance to share much more while opening ourselves as much as new people to come back into our lives and share too. i glance forward to keeping you contemporary on our progress as we not just build our dream, but in addition restore this gorgeous building and share our great fortune with our community and salon professionals.

STEP 1: Carve out a diamond section on top about 1” far from front hairline to top of occipital – the smaller the diamond, the more detail revealed.
STEP 2: Working parallel to the attitude of the diamond, alternate Detail 1 & 2.
STEP 3: Continue round the triangle.
STEP 4: Apply background to remaining hair and process for half-hour.
STEP 5: Shampoo and condition.
STEP 6: Apply glaze and process for 20 minutes.

The Oribe “Backstage Inspiration Challenge” Winners Announced
The Oribe Backstage Miami: La Fama, held this past summer, was a multi-day event taking stylists on a journey through Oribe’s Latin influences. Several thousand salon professionals attended the grand finale event, THE SHOW, which was full of hair, beauty and fashion inspirations.
Those who attended La Fama were invited to take part in a challenge: Recreate the keenness from the show, and capture it on camera in an original salon team photo shoot. Salons were allowed to submit one professionally shot portfolio (as much as 10 photos) per location. The photographs needed to have a standard theme or tell a comprehensive story that was inspired by some means by the Backstage event.
More than 50 salons, ranging in size from two to 30-plus chairs, entered the Backstage Inspiration Challenge. Every entry was posted on Oribe.pro, the personal Oribe community for the Oribe network, and members were asked to vote for his or her favorite three portfolios. Once the end 16 were chosen by their peers, the finalists were submitted to a judging panel that included Oribe, members of the Oribe Education Team and our own Beauty and Fashion Director Maggie Mulhern. Collectively, every photo submitted was posted on Facebook for the Fan Favorite Contest, during which thousands of votes were cast.

METHODS TO: Sharon Peake’s Soundwave Color Technique
Finished look. Matrix colorist Sharon Peake of Ethos Hairdressing in Manchester, England used Schwarzkopf color to create her “Soundwave” technique that enhances the best geometric cut by Ethos and Matrix stylist Adam Bryant. This hair color look is an entry for the Schwarzkopf Colour Technician of the Year on the British Hairdressing Awards.STEP 1: Apply Schwarzkopf Blondme with six percent developer to the regrowth and with three percent at the med lengths to boost existing gold tones. Apply Blondeme toning Cream and Ice with two percent developer for 3 minutes.
STEP 2: Blow dry hair forward from the crown.
STEP 3: Take an exceptionally fine veil section on the crown and ranging from the sections closest to the hairline, use a broom to use equal parts Schwarzkopf Igora Royal 5-0 and six-4 with three percent developer brushing the hair towards the completed style.
STEP 4: The last two sections across the head are faded into the blond with Igora 6-0 and seven-4 with three percent developer.
