The hair look created at Houghton’s Spring/Summer ’14 The big apple Mercedes Benz Fashion Week is fresh and straightforward style, perfect for Fall. L’Oreal Professionnel Artist Laura Polko drew inspiration from Houghton’s dreamy color palette of beachy sunsets and female pieces, including organza skirts and sleeveless silk tunics. “It’s fresh and easy. The hair had to move with the garments and feel roughed-up and beachy,” said Polko.

GET THE LOOK:

To create the braids, on damp hair, Polko applied a cocktail of L’Oréal Professionnel Mousse Volupté and L’Oréal Professionnel Volumetry Root Spray from roots to ends. Hair was then rough dried with a blow dryer for volume and texture on the crown. After center parting strands and applying L’Oréal Professionnel True Grip everywhere hair to produce weightless volume and grip, a low ponytail was secured with an elastic on the nape of the neck. After teasing hair with fingers on the crown, each ponytail was styled right into a classic or fishtail braid. To complete, Polko pulled out pieces from the braids gently to create a roughed-up, lived-in feel. For a last touch the braids were finished off with L’Oréal Professionnel Infinium 3 Hairspray.
